Taylor Made Industry

Agriculture is a major industry in Taylor County, Georgia, with an annual farm gate value of more than $32 million. Peaches, strawberries, poultry/eggs, and timber are the top crops in Taylor County.

A different type of crop has been established in Taylor County in recent years: solar farms. More than 3,500 acres of land in Taylor County are covered in solar panels, catching energy from the sun and feeding it into Southern Power’s energy grid. Four solar farms operate on land that was mostly open fields with sandy, difficult-to-farm soil.

Taylor County “Rock Star”

Georgia annually recognizes a limited number of small businesses as “Georgia Small Business Rock Stars.” For 2019, Taylor County’s own Advanced Wildlife Solutions was one of the nominees.
