“Taylor Made” Access

Midway between Macon and Columbus, Taylor County, Georgia, has become a magnet for businesses seeking an accessible location with plenty of land for development. Perched at the intersection of two four-lane highways, Georgia 96 and U.S. 19, Taylor County is highly accessible by road, rail or air. Residents, visitors and entrepreneurs are strategically positioned to enjoy the luxury of proximity to modern amenities while maintaining a rural nature, sheltered from urban challenges.

Our position – only a one and a half (1.5) hour drive to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, just three (3) hours from the Port of Savannah, and only 1 hour to the Cordele Inland Port – provides easy access to your business.

Butler Municipal Airport is located one mile north of Butler’s central business district and is owned and operated by Taylor County. The primary runway is 5,000 feet long and constructed of asphalt. The turf crosswind runway is 2,400 feet long. Located on the outskirts of Butler Industrial Park, the airport’s economic impact is approximately $1.3 million annually.

Butler Industrial Park is served by rail, enabling local businesses to reach world markets through the Port of Savannah, the largest single container terminal in North America. And with Taylor County only about one hour from the Cordele Inland Port, some businesses find it more efficient to load and unload at the inland port rail facilities. U.S. Customs and other import/export requirements can be processed on site so that containers can be loaded directly onto the ships at Savannah, bypassing truck queues at the Port.
